Core algorithmic needs include: robust image registration, template construction, and image segmentation for immediate application to population studies for such pathologies, such as stroke, epilepsy, cardiac, and other diseases. The candidate is expected to train other post-docs and research staff in the use of these software tools and equipment to further enhance the research quality of the department. The selected candidate is also expected to develop collaborations with other departments, such as Neurosurgery and Cardiology. Such collaborations are expected to facilitate interdisciplinary research and grant efforts.<br><br>The successful candidate will hold a Master's degree in biology, chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, or other related scientific field and will have a minimum of three years of laboratory, research, and/or image analysis experience.<br><br>This is a restricted position and contingent on future grant funding after December 31, 2016.<br><br>Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br>1. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of scientific, experimental, and research techniques. <br>2. Working knowledge of imaging laboratory procedures used in the performance of routine imaging tests, and the operation of imaging equipment. <br>3. Working knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting. <br>4. Ability to report findings legibly and accurately. <br>5. Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and patients.<br>6. Ability to follow oral and written instruction. <br>7. Ability to conduct independent work. <br>8. Ability to supervise and train and/or supervise students and/or staff. <br>9. Skilled in paying attention to detail, taking initiative, being flexible and reliable. <br>10. Knowledge of financial management, research funding, and grant proposals.<br>11. Knowledge of core algorithmic needs, including robust image registration, template construction, and image segmentation.<br>12.
