<div>I’m taking over and completing work on a patch by a student of Hans Johnson. The patch was started as a class assignment, and the student is no longer working on it.</div>

<div>One of my first acts is to merge 2 different gerrit topics together, since one depended on the other. </div>

<div>So now, one of the patches needs to be abandoned but the owner of the patch is no longer around to abandon it.</div>
