hi Wen,<br><br>I initially just tried to find examples online or in the tests and copy the usage of classes and then use the online documentation as an additional help/clarification.<br><br>But after doing that for a bit, I got comfortable looking at the online documentation as a primary source of information rather than searching for examples. If something doesn't work, then looking at examples shows anything critical that you didn't do right.<br>

Why the tutorial and user guide of ITK are totally free, but in VTK the tutorial and user guide are commercial products?<br>
That's a little bit tricky, since both of them are open Sources. But if you want to learn VTK, then you need to buy the references.<br>
Did you guys all buy the books of VTK or just figure it out yourselves?<br>
