The thin plate splines implementation in ITK seems really confusing, atleast to me. I tried reading the paper referenced in the implementation but that paper is on Elastic Body Splines. I went through the txx files as well. Could somebody explain the TPS implementation to me? Why cannot the TPS be used as the transform in ICP and why does the TPS require the Amoeba optimizer specifically?</div>
