I have encountered similar error message when compiling the book (on
Ubuntu):

[ 99%] Built target SoftwareGuideExamples

make[5]: *** No rule to make target
`SoftwareGuide/Art/ResampleImageFilterOutput7.eps', needed by
`SoftwareGuideArt'.  Stop.

make[4]: *** [SoftwareGuide/Art/CMakeFiles/SoftwareGuideArt.dir/all] Error 2

make[3]: *** [all] Error 2

make[2]: ***
[ITKSoftwareGuide-prefix/src/ITKSoftwareGuide-stamp/ITKSoftwareGuide-build]
Error 2

make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/ITKSoftwareGuide.dir/all] Error 2

I tried *"make -i" *(ignore the errors), and also ignored a bunch of latex
errors.
The final pdf book seems to be fine.
