By default, Slicer saves fiducials are saved in the RAS coordinate system, while ITK uses LPS.

Subject: [ITK] [ITK-users] ITK/Slicer coordinate difference

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with the difference between Slicer and ITK coordinates. I obtained fiducial coordinates (physical locations) in Slicer and fed them into my ITK code. My code takes the points and applies my final registration transform to find out where their final position after registration is. However, there is some difference between the way ITK and Slicer handle coordinates. Could someone give me a brief explanation as to what that difference is and how I can account for it in my ITK code?

Thanks,
Emily Hammond
