it's a Linux 2.6 system running under the Xen virtualization manager.

That being said, the testing environment seems to have gotten itself 
into a bad state.  I'm going to clean it up and restart it this 
afternoon.  I'll manually re-run your project, just on the off chance 
that the problems you're experiencing will go away.
