Do you know why it is required to call Update() on the  
SpatialObjectToImageFilter object ?
If the Update() method is called on the writer object only, the program  
fail with the message:

RuntimeError: /home/glehmann/src/Insight/Code/IO/itkPNGImageIO.cxx:432:
itk::ERROR: PNGImageIO(0x87c1c68): PNG Writer can only write 2-dimensional  
images. You are requesting to write an image of dimension = 0 with  
filename SpatialObject.png
