[Insight-users] compiling ITK with VTK

I am new with itk, and am trying to compile itk with vtk.  
I am using gcc 2.96 on Red Hat 7.3 
I am compiling my vtk with: 
VTK_USE_ANSI_STDLIB
VTK_USE_PATENTED
VTK_WRAP_TCL
VTK_USE_HYBRID

It compiled successfully.

When trying to compile itk, I have:
BUILD_APPLICATIONS
BUILD_EXAMPLES
USE_GLUT
USE_VTK
SEGMENTER_WRAP_TCL
VTKITK_WRAP_TCL

I get the following errors:

I also got this with gcc 3.2.  Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
