[Insight-users] Can DeformableMesh3DFilter be used on 2D images

I would like to know if the class DeformableMesh3DFilter can be used to find 
the deformable model of a 2D image.  If yes could you refer me to example 
code.  I have already tried to modify the code itkDeformableTest.cxx to no 
avail.  I would greatly appreciate any help.  Thanks.
