I tried that, as you said, in the binary tree CMake cache file, then ran
CMake (1.6) again, and it changed everything back to the full paths with
spaces. Other combinations of fixing the paths and re-running CMake =
failed
as well, so I resorted to put my source tree under c:/src. I did the =
same to
my vtk sources, since I had gotten a cryptic error message there too =
which I
fixed by changing the custom build settings of a couple of .Tcl.cxx =
files.=20

Now that everything is under c:/src, the build works just fine. My =
lesson:
Don't bother with Microsoft's long file paths with spaces. I will soon
transfer everything to a separate disk anyway.
