Hi Soumen,

My guess is that there are spurious characters in your
MetaImage header.

Please post your MetaImage header as an attachment,
not just copy/pasting its text into the email.

Finding "NDims" in the header is a relatively basic
operation and occurs early in the process of reading
the data.

Looking at you metaimage header may help us to figure
out the source of the problem,
