The Beta version of ITK 1.8 is now available
from the Download page.

You will find the following files

     * InsightToolkit-1.8.0.Beta.tar.gz
     * InsightApplications-1.8.0.Beta.tar.gz
     * CableSwig-ITK-1.8.0.Beta.tar.gz

     * InsightToolkit-1.8.0.Beta.zip
     * InsightApplications-1.8.0.Beta.zip
     * CableSwig-ITK-1.8.0.Beta.zip


Please make sure that you use the ".tar.gz"
files for Unix/Linux and the ".zip" files for
MS-Windows.

You can also get it through CVS by using the
tag "ITK-1-8", like


      cvs   update  -r   ITK-1-8


The official release of ITK 1.8 is scheduled
for next Monday August 16th.



InsightApplications is expected to be build using

          - FLTK 1.1.4
          - VTK  4.4

You can safely use CMake 2.0 for configuration
although it is not required, CMake 1.8.3 will
do just fine.



If you find any problems with the Beta, please
let us know so we can address them before the
official release.
