Let's be honest for 60 seconds.

Your main motivation for publishing
a paper in a Journal is:

    A) Add a line in the "publications"
section of your resume, so you
       have better chances of getting
a new job, obtaining a promotion
or applying for a tenure position.

    B) Share information with colleagues
       working in the same domain.

    C) Prevent other groups from patenting
       the methods/data you are reporting.

    D) Reporting the results of your research
to the public that probably funded
       your work through taxes.

    E) Make sure that history will associate
your name with the reported method.

If you choose (A,C,E) use the remaining 15 seconds
of honesty to ask yourself why you decided to work
in research.

When horses race because they get candy at the end
of the race... they become more of candy-eaters
and less of racing-horses.

IMAGINE:

Imagine a Journal where authors and readers are
aware of the fundamental elements of the scientific
    method.

Imagine a Journal where you finally don't have to
play the game of pretending that your method is
better than anybody else's. Just describe what you
did and report what you found.

Imagine a Journal where you can be honest for more
than 60 seconds and still feel good at the end.

    Imagine...
