Hi,

I have a question:

Why do objects like the MapContainer and the VectorContainer not inherit 
from DataObject, but from Object? Is there any reason for this?

If they would inherit from DataObject, it would be easier to use them as 
filter pipeline objects (they could serve as an output of a ProcessObject 
for example).
