Hi James,

         Welcome to ITK !!

Please read the Tutorials:

     http://www.itk.org/HTML/Tutorials.htm

In particular the session:

"Getting Started I"
http://www.itk.org/CourseWare/Training/GettingStartedI-WebPage/index.htm

It will guide you step by step on how to configure,
build and run ITK examples.

Please note that most ITK examples *DO NOT* have any GUI,
therefore you *MUST* run them from a console (MS-DOS window,
or a Cygwin shell).

You will also find useful to read the first
three chapters of the ITK Software Guide

   http://www.itk.org/ItkSoftwareGuide.pdf

Please let us know if you continue experiencing
any problems. In that case, please post to the list
the *EXACT* error messages that you are getting,
along with a description of your platform and
the versions of software that you are using.

    Regards,

        Luis
