[Insight-users] Thresholding

Subbu,

ITK does not contain any unites and it is left to the programmer to
interpret the pixel data. ITK is generic and is able to handle multiple
types of imaging data (CT, MRI, photographs, etc...).

In certain cases, such as loading DICOM CT data into a signed short data
type then you might expect that the pixel data to represent CT numbers.
If this was loaded into 8 bit data, then the data will most likely not
represent CT numbers.
