[Insight-users] Histogram

Hi,

I tried to use the Histogram class in ITK. It works fine but I do not 
understand what I am doing. For example I have 256 possible values in my 
image. The histogram gives me a min and a max value of one pixel value?! 
I want to get the minimum value of the whole histogram an not of one 
pixel value.
Are there any books, papers, ... which describe the function of the 
histogram?
