[Insight-users] Automatic seed point generation

Hi all,
  I am trying to see if I can use image intensity information to generate automatic seed points for the shape detection level set segmentation. Has anyone ever tried to do this or something similar? I know the minimum maximum image filter calculates the min and max intensities in the image but I'm not sure it will work for my purpose. 
  Any suggestions/pointers on how to go about doing this?
