Hi Henry,

Thanks for attempting the CMake build.
This is quite informative...

However, it seems that you forgot to mention
about the CC and CXX environment variables.


 From the CMake build information,
you are using as compilers:

 > This is output from bootstrap
 > C compiler on this system is: cc
 > C++ compiler on this system is: xlC


but when building ITK you were accessing some headers
in the installation of gcc 3.4.


So...


1) Are you trying to use GCC or
    are you trying to use the IBM compiler ?


2) Please let us know what you get as output from
    the following commands


     a) echo $CC
     b) echo $CXX
     c) which cc
     d) which xlC
