[Insight-users] how to write my own metic class

hello, 
I'm trying to implement a paper of registration with ITK, but there will be a new metric function which can't be found in ITK library. So I'm wondering how can I write a new class of metric with ITK. Which base class should I inherit and which functions should I implement to integrate this new class to a registration framework.
