[Insight-users] connecting ITK and VTK

Hi everyone,
I need to draw on an image. I'm using both Itk and vtk. Does anyone know if it's better to draw say a line in vtk and then pass it to ITK for further process or create it in ITK and then pass it to vtk for viewing??????? 
and 
How can I send a point or pixel or any other object rather than image back and forth between ITK and VTK?
