Hi Raghu,

Welcome to ITK!

I would really recommend reading the ITK Software Guide:
    http://www.itk.org/ItkSoftwareGuide.pdf

particularly section 7.12 (Reading and Writing DICOM Images).

It sounds like your images are a DICOM series, so section 7.12.3 will
apply in your case.
