You rather have 3 options:
* ITK wrapping based on cableswig
* WrapITK, also in ITK and based on cableswig, but with way much  
classes available, and still marked as experimental
* WrapITK unstable, based on a native swig, with as much classes than  
WrapITK stable, a better java interface, smaller binaries, but it  
still require some work to be easy to use.

Unless you can do some work on WrapITK unstable to fit your needs, I  
would go with WrapITK stable, if I had to use ITK in java.
