[Insight-users] Binary Image Analysis

Hi Guys!

I am working on a diploma thesis about defect analysis in cast iron. I
think the ITK might just be the tool to assist me. There's one thing
though I didn't get to clarify: Can I make a quantitative analysis on
single (unconnected) objects in a binary volume?

The goal is to process 3d volume data to the point where I have a binary
image/volume showing the defects in white (or 1 or foreground, you name
it...), and then extracting field information like "How many objects are
there", "What volume percentage do these objects take?" and regional
information (per defect): Volume, Center Of Gravity, Curvature,
Roundness, ...

Is this possible with ITK? If not, does anybody have an idea which
library works well with ITK for that purpose?

Best regards,
Christian
