Software Engineers in Barco's Medical Imaging Division research, design, prototype & productize medical image processing and visualization algorithms.

We are seeking an experienced engineer with interest to develop this software at the application layer for this market.  Engineer will work on small teams to create new and maintain existing software in this area.  Engineer will also collaborate with other international team members and external research partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities

*	Design & development of medical image/video processing and visualization systems
*	Research, invent, prototype & productize image processing SW
*	Document or provide input for test plans and software specifications
*	Participate in all of the stages of the software development life cycle

 Minimum Qualifications

*	MS in Signal Processing, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
*	5+ years experience of related practical R&D experience
*	Strong C/C++ programming skills
*	Knowledge and experience with 3D/2D graphics visualization techniques
*	Knowledge and experience with image/video processing techniques
*	Responsible to make and consistently meet project schedules and milestones
*	Ability to work independently with high level of resourcefulness and manage time according to current priorities
*	Excellent communication skills with a wide variety of cultures and personalities
*	Ability to handle both long and short term tasks efficiently
*	Ability to work with other software developers in small teams
*	Ability to travel domestically & internationally

Preferred Abilities and Knowledge

*	Experience in the research, design & development of medical imaging software
*	Knowledge of object oriented design principles and comfort with programming in OO environment
*	Parallel, MatLAB, GPGPU, DSP programming experience
