It defaults to identity. ie the absence of the measurement frame is equivalent to saying that the coordinate frame of the gradients is the same as the that of the image orientation.

Yes. That's right. Please feel free to contribute a patch. The gradient direction needs to be pre-multiplied by the measurement frame. You can externally do this before supplying the container of gradient directions to the filter.



Alternatively, you can use the Stochastic Tractography Filter in Slicer which does take the measurementframe into account.
