[Insight-users] applying the gradientAnisotropicDiffusion filter on voxels with different spacings

hi all ,
I am dealing with confocal data and the XY resolution of the images is far
better than Z direction.
I am applying the gradientbased anisotropic filter to smooth my image before
applying Otsu or other filters
My question is , how effective  are these filters on data where the voxels
have different spacing or does ITK recommend we first use the
makeVolumeIsotropic filter.
