[Insight-users] Applying a filter only to a particular region of an image

Say I want to apply something like a DerivativeImageFilter to an image, but
only on the left half of the image. Is there something that you can do to
tell a filter where to be applied? For example, set the "BufferedRegion" of
the image or something like that before passing it to the filter? Or is the
only way to do it to use a RegionOfInterestFilter before going to the
DerivativeImageFilter?
