[Insight-users] Segmentation question

I have CT of various regions of the body and am interested in doing 2 types
of segmentations.

1.  I would like to segment the outline of the body from the table the
patient is laying on, and the air
2.  I would like to segment the lung

I am very new to ITK and was hoping someone could suggest some good
algorithms to start with.  For the body segmentation, I assume a very crude
thresholding and smoothing would be OK, but I'm not sure.

For the lung, I assume a seed point would be placed inside of each lung.
