[Insight-users] [Announcement] SimpleITK 0.5 Release Candidate 1

Good morning,

We are happy to announce the SimpleITK 0.5 Release Candidate 1.

The goal of the candidate is to allow users to test building and certain features before the release and binary packaging is performed.

The release candidate is available as a tag in the git repository. To obtain the source code:

git clone --recursive http://itk.org/SimpleITK.git
cd SimpleITK
git checkout -q --detach v0.5rc01

Specifically, we have greatly improved the robustness and features in the sitk::Show method for better support on Windows and more options to customize the behavior. While we have done our best to test these facilities across multiple platforms and configurations the additional testing on users systems would be very helpful.

Our primary focus since the last release has include:

Adding new ImageFilters
Fixing compilation with VS 9 2008
Improving Show()
Adding support for wrapping for R
And many more improvements...
