[Insight-users] how would one define a specific metric to diffusion registration?

Hello all!

Could someone throw me a bone with this one!?

If my two images (sizeX,sizey) are perfectly aligned, then i know that the x
component of the vectorfield coming from demons registration (or some other
diffusion based algorithm) should be all zero. Also there should be a
horizontal line in the middle of the y component at position sizeY/2 with
all zeros. Then when going up or down from this line the values should
increase in positive or negative direction.

How would i implement this constraint in the demons registration?
If there is initial rotation and shift (or scaling) between the two images,
how would i "read" this from the deformation vector field?
Is there a way to get the affine transformation parameters from the results
of the demons registration?

Any bone will do...

Thanks,
Toni
