Duties and Responsibilities:

The Computational Radiology Laboratory (CRL) at Children’s Hospital in
Boston is developing innovative technologies to advance our
understanding of the structure and function of the brain and other
organs of the human body, in order to improve our capacity to diagnose
and treat disease. Members of the CRL achieve this by developing novel
technologies and computational modeling strategies for understanding
and interpreting radiological images.

Our research is at the intersection of computer science, imaging
physics and medicine. We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a
programmer position to work in varied research projects in medical
image computing.
The successful candidate will take an active part in the development
of the CRL research developments (registration, segmentation,
visualization, medical image computing, diffusion imaging analysis)
into the application level (API, interface to define/run processing
workflows, scripting, plugin web store and interface). He/she will
strongly collaborate with other members of the CRL and with clinical
research teams on these aspects. The successful candidate will also
propose new research directions and projects, and will assist in
preparing research proposals and participate actively in writing grant
and Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposals.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate will hold a degree in computer science,
electrical engineering, applied mathematics or similar discipline.
He/she will have from two to seven years of software development
experience.

The following skills/qualities will be of particular interest:

1.    Excellent knowledge of C++ language mandatory.
2.    Experience with the following toolkits: ITK, VTK, Qt.
3.    Good knowledge of python.
4.    Good knowledge of version management (SVN,Git) and compilation
software (CMake).
5.    Web programming (server/client side), including HTML/HTML5,
Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Apache server configuration.
6.    iPhone/Android apps programming
7.    Skills and experience in medical image processing
8.    Linux system administration
9.    Autonomy and ability to work in a distributed team

This is a one year term position, renewal contingent upon continued funding.
