[Insight-users] How 'Versor 3D Rigid Transform' is optimized in ITK?

I've just searched about the 'VersorRigid3DTransform' filter of ITK, and did some rigid registration examples with it. But from the web, I didn't found something telling what is optimized with this and how. I mean the cost function of it. Could someone help me understand this?
