Thanks for the feedback and welcome to join the ITK community.

You are right that the Software guide  for ITK is not quite update to date and does not cover all aspects of the toolkit, and hopefully we will be able to revive it soon.  Just want to point out a few more places for new members:  1) You can find a lot more information on the wiki page<http://www.itk.org/Wiki/ITK>.  2) We have recently started ITKBarCamp<http://insightsoftwareconsortium.github.com/ITKBarCamp-doc/>, with the purpose of facilitate new community members. 3) Also please check out the on-going project of  ITKExamples<http://itk.org/ITKExamples/>, which contains a good collection of examples for using different ITK classes. 4) The mailing list is always the best place to ask any ITK questions.

Please let us know if you have more ideas or suggestions of helping new ITK users.
