The git history for Rendering/OpenGL/vtkWin32OpenGLRenderWindow.cxx in VTK ‘master’ says the InitializeFromCurrentContext method was added in Nov. 2012.

 

The 5.10.1 tag was from Oct. 2012.

 

The method has been added since 5.10.1...

I downloade vtkDocHtml-5.10.1.tar,and there is not  InitializeFromCurrentContext in classvtkWin32OpenGLRenderWindow.
Is  this doc that you said relate to whick vertion of vtk?

VTK 5.10.1 is the latest release of VTK

The docs say that current version has this method:
