Hey Brad,

Thanks for the suggestion. Eventually I went to back to ITK 3.20 and had it built successfully on IOS 6 using XCode 4.6.2. The process is very similar to Shabash's paper.

Regards,
Jay

Hello Jay,

Yes the HDF5 library is new to ITK v4. You should be able to only compile a sub-set of the module in ITKv4. So you should be able to disable HDF5. A minimal set may be useful as a starting point.

There is a blog post about cross compiling ITK v4 for the Raspberry Pi, which should contain some info on how to configure HDF5 for cross compilation:

Good luck,
Brad

A couple of years ago, a group of scientists published an insight article demonstrating the process of compiling ITK 3.2 on IOS 3.2 (XCode 3.2.3) (Boris Shabash, Ghassan Hamarneh, Zhi Feng Huang, and Luis Ibanez. ITK on the iOS. Insight Journal, July-December:1-9, 2010).

I tried to compile ITK 4.3.2 on XCode 4.6.2 (IOS 6 SDK) following the Shabash's paper, and got into trouble to make the HDF5 library to work. Is this library newly added in ITK 4? Seems it requires a certain command line executables to be compiled which is not supported by IOS.
