[vtkusers] New to java - Where's the classes

I'm a newbie to java and installed vtk31java on the system

When trying the sample programs my javac doesn't like the "import
vtk.*;"

My question is - where are these classes installed and is there a
tutorial
for vtk java anywhere. I'm sure it would help.

[Note: I've got a large tcl/tk/vtk gui and would like to try to do some
Java Swinging]
