you're right , I can't recall the name of this guy either :))
I think the article was published in july 1987 in Computer graphics ( vol.
21, n°4, p163-169) under the name of "Marching Cubes : a high resolution 3D
surface construction algorithm", but i can't remember the guy's name :-)
