[vtkusers] (volume) data value rescale function?

Hi all,

is there a function to rescale volume data values as follows: Supposed the 
data range of my data is 0-255, I would want to extract the voxels with 
values 50-150 and rescale these to 0-255.
In IDL, for example, I would use the
BYTSCL ( Array [, MAX=value] [, MIN=value] [, /NAN] [, TOP=value] )
 function for this. Is there something similar in VTK?
