Maybe try:
    "-L/usr/lib/vtk -Wl,--rpath,/usr/lib/vtk -lRendering -lvtkGraphics -lvtkCommon"
plus any other VTK libraries you need.

Since the VTK libraries are not in the standard library search  paths, you
normally have to supply an rpath.
