[vtkusers] newbie question

To whomever can provide a pointer,

I am trying to build VTK on MacOSX using the CMake gui installer. I am 
checking options
to

--build Cocoa not Carbon
--dont build dlls (should build static libraries, correct?)
--build examples
--wrap tcl and java

It configures and builds successfully, but the static libraries 
themselves are not produced.

Do I also need to specify CMake build type? what do I put there?
