[vtkusers] About VTK installation!!!

Dear all,

     If I want to use VTK with JAVA in Windows.
     
     After I intalled "vtk422.exe", do I still need to install Visual Statio 6 and Cmake?

     And use the cmake to set the VTK?

     If so, is there any alternative software to the Visual Statio 6? It is huge.
