[vtkusers] Why is VTK so slow on some machines ?

On Some of our laptops, even VTK demo applications are so slow they are
completly un-responsive !!
On the same machines, other OpenGL programs are working fine ! (ProE, 3DS
Max...etc.)

This is crusial for us !

In what is VTK different in its way to use OpenGL compared to a direct usage
of OpenGL ?
