[vtkusers] graphical bug in windows

I am running windows XP with all of the windows service packs
and security patches applied.  I haven't checked for the
latest graphics drivers beyond the windows update site.
I have reports of other people having this problem on other
systems as well.

My system:

    windows xp pro version 2002 service pack 1
    NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200  32MB
       driver version 4.5.8.5 (11/20/2003)
       bios version 4.34.20.34.c2
