[vtkusers] vtkScalarBarActor questions

I see various implementations of vtkScalarBar using a run-time generated
lookup table... But I can't find a clear way to relate it to my program
(such is the nature of OO...)

What do I do differently to create the lookup table using a PolyDataReader
that is reading in scalars and corresponding color values from a VTK file?
