[vtkusers] Finding position on Actor

 Hi,
 
Is there a function to find out if a position (or point) is lying inside, outside or on an Actor?
 
What i have is a pick position in world coords (obtained from a Haptic device) which is then converted to display coords to enable picking. I am picking an Assembly which contains several Actors and want to identify a particular Actor so that i can interact with it. 
 
I would like to determine if the pick position lies on the surface of the Actor.
 
Please advice.
