[vtkusers] why VTK works in Debug mode, but not in release mode?

Hi there, 

I tested VTK 4.4 on a pc with WinXP SP2 + VS .Net 2003. The VTK projects
work in Debug mode, but not in Release mode. 

Does anybody have an idea?
