[vtkusers] help using getinput

hello I´m new using VTK and I don´t know how renderer
data since a file, I´m traying to renderer medical
imagin since a file .I know that I have to use the
methode getinput and getoutput but I don´t know how
function this exatly .I need owrs help .thank you
