[vtkusers] tracking contours & features over time; optical flow

I would like to track individual contours over time in 2d and 3d.  The 
problem is somewhat complicated by the fact that the images are not 
registered to a common reference point, although this is in the works.  
I am cross correlating the contour/polylines obtined from vtkstripper as 
well as matching 1st and 2nd moments of each contour.  Any suggestions 
or pointers before I proceed further reinventing the wheel?
